Upcoming Event: FALL FOR READING!

Loudoun Literacy Council's Family Literacy Event
Rust Library, 380 Old Waterford Road, Leesburg, Virginia
September 18, 2011, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Celebrate the joy of reading together as a family with stories, crafts and fun activities. Fall for Reading, hosted by the Loudoun Literacy Council and sponsored by Loudoun County Public Library, encourages families to read together, play together and continue to learn as a family all year long.

This year’s special guest performer will be Billy B., a song and dance man who teaches kids and parents alike about nature, through dance and movement. Billy B. has appeared in venues around the world and brings his love of the environment to the 2011 family event.

Other activities include:

Storyteller’s Theater – Hear a book come to life as stories are read aloud in the children’s theater.

Art Studio - Ongoing activities will take place in the art studio tent, located in front of the library. There will be many hands-on projects for children and families to do together.

Face Painting – Come have your face painted with your favorite flower, picture or storybook character.

Refreshments, a visit from Smartie the Owl, free book give-aways and more! Don’t miss this year’s special family event.
