Why Donate?

It is an investment in the Loudoun community. Your contribution will help maintain and expand the Loudoun Literacy programs in order to provide people with vital life skills. This, in turn, can help reverse the following social maladies:

• Poverty and illiteracy are tragically interlinked.
• Over 80% of all adults and youths incarcerated for the first time are illiterate.
• A child from a non-reading family is 8 times more likely to drop out of school.
• Children who start school behind and live in educationally disadvantaged homes get further behind and often fail to acquire basic skills.
• Employees are at risk for injury or dismissal because they cannot read simple instructions.

How Your Donations Help

We heavily rely on donations to fulfill our mission of helping people to read, write and speak English in order to obtain or retain employment, and to become US citizens and productive members of our community.

Your funds will be used to buy books and learning materials for students, rent classroom space, pay for tutor training materials and manuals, etc.

Privacy

We recognize and protect the privacy of our donors. We do not sell lists of donor names, nor do we share donor information unless permitted by the donor.

Tax Benefits

The Loudoun Literacy Council is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization; therefore, all donations are tax deductible.
